Kia Jewell

Kia is an accomplished contemporary and commercial dancer with a strong background in ballet and tap as well. She graduated from the New Zealand School of Dance in 2018. In 2019 Kia performed sold out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Java Dance Theatre. Later in 2019, Kia accepted a place at the prestigious contemporary training programme P.A.R.T.S, the school of Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, and moved to Brussels.Since returning to New Zealand in 2020 due to Covid-19, she has choreographed and danced in music videos for Drax Project, such as ‘Crazy’ and ‘Firefly’. She has also been a dancer in the ‘World of Wearable Arts Award Show’. Kia mainly works as a freelancer with New Zealand based companies such as Movement of the Human (Torua, Belle) and Java Dance Theatre  performing nationally and internationally.
